The Toy Story 3 trailer has just come out. I just happened to animate a shot that has my favorite 3x3 yellow little buddies in it. Oh how I wanted to ask the director to please let me draw on one of those post-its :)

Cat Rey is a young woman who found out at the age of 25 has breast cancer. Her friends are reaching out to artists to contribute a piece of art for a charity auction, in hopes of helping her pay some of those expensive medical bills.

Beautiful Grim is the theme.

I have to admit, after hearing Cat's story and those two words, all I could draw was sad, beautiful women. Then I got a email from a woman who saw one of my post-its on the street. She smiled, calling it 'life's little joys'. I was touched. It freed me up to not look at the theme as death, but rather celebrate life. Fill it my as many 'little joys' as possible.
